Electrochemical Therapy of In Vivo Rabbit Cutaneous Tissue

چکیده

OBJECTIVES To examine the acid-base and histological changes in vivo rabbit cutaneous tissue after electrochemical therapy. STUDY DESIGN In study. METHODS The shaved skin on backs of female Oryctolagus cuniculi were assigned to treatments with or without tumescence normal saline. Two platinum-needle electrodes inserted into each treatment area connected a direct current (DC) power supply. Voltage (3-5 V) was varied applied for 5 minutes. wound-healing process monitored via digital photography ultrasonography until euthanasia at day 29. Treatment areas biopsied, specimens sectioned through sagittal midline across both electrode insertion sites. Samples then evaluated utilizing light microscopy (hematoxylin eosin, Masson's Trichrome, Picrosirius red). RESULTS sites developed mild inflammation that dissipated lower voltages became scabs higher voltages. Ultrasonography demonstrated acoustic shadowing spatial spread increased increasing voltage application. 4- 5-V treated saline had localized density Although 3 V did not look significantly different from control tissue, samples finer, less-organized collagen fibers presence fibrocytes inflammatory infiltrates. CONCLUSIONS Electrochemical therapy caused injury prompting regenerative wound repair. With future development, this technology may offer precise, low-cost rejuvenation restore functionality appearance dermal scars keloids. LEVEL OF EVIDENCE NA Laryngoscope, 131:E2196-E2203, 2021.

Histotripsy of rabbit renal tissue in vivo: temporal histologic trends.

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Histotripsy is defined as noninvasive, nonthermal, mechanical (cavitational) tissue ablation. We previously demonstrated the predictable acute tissue effects of histotripsy in rabbit kidney and other tissues. We sought to characterize the appearance and natural history of renal tissue after histotripsy. MATERIALS AND METHODS Following Institutional Animal Care Committee...

in vitro decellularization of rabbit lung tissue

objective: the bioscaffold can be used in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. the scaffolds used in tissue engineering must have high porosity to facilitate accelerated angiogenesis for feeding cells and repelling cell waste outside the scaffold. in this experimental study, we attempted to produce lung three-dimensional scaffold and assay its effect on cell penetration and migration. ...
